Michael Durkee Trumpet Rutland, VT

Michael Durkee played for many years while in school like so many other students. He participated in Districts, All-State, and New England Music Festivals. During his senior year, he even played with a well known local swing band. After college, Michael started a family and the trumpet was placed in the closet. Michael has a degree in electronics and is currently responsible for quality at a local manufacturer in Rutland County.

After 18 years, Michael got the bug thanks to both his kids being active in music. He pulled the trumpet out of the closet in 2007 and started to play. Since then, he has been an active member with the Rutland City Band and a community member in both the Castleton State College Jazz Band and the Castleton State College Theatre Pit Orchestra. Michael also enjoys playing with a local blues band.

Thanks to a former High School music teacher, Michael was invited to play with the Enerjazz Big Band and is very grateful to be playing with a great group of musicians.
